union Cllaab On August 26, l94O, the good ship of the Junior Class, with a crevv of l76 pulled up their anchor and set their sails, The first good gust of wind found Sam Blight at the helm with Ed Cukjati as first mate, Jeanne Abbott, Keeper of the Log, and Johnnie Santaga, manager of all the business transactions, The destiny of the ship was success. Let's trace the course of the ship and see if its destiny will be safely reached. September, October, November found the boys working hard at football. The Junior boys to receive letters in A football were: Sam Blight, Dick Bryant, Alex Lee, Bill Scott, and Reginald Sullivan. B football avvards were given to Deming Chevv, Allan lvlcCrea, Ray Owen, Ed Pasteris and Ray Sovvden, The girls proved very successful in their volleyball games. union CQQAA December l9 found the old gym beautifully arrayed in big red balloons and silver pines, Yes, it was the Junior class 'fl-lolly l-lop and it proved a great success, As February rolled around, our boat took on a new course. Sam Blight was again captain but first mate was changed to Deming Chew, and Barbara Taylor as Keeper of the Log. March, April and May found the boys and girls busily engaged in Track and Bas- ketball, respectively The boys representing the Juniors in Track were' Sam Blight, Ed Pasteris, Ray Owen, Wilmer Foster, John Sontaga, Jack Bledsoe, Donn Bonham, and Bob Vrornan, ln April, the Junior class held their annual Prom which was very successful The theme The Stairway to the Stars was carried out with silver and blue, with Rollie Barton's orchestra on board to furnish the music.
