Twenly-four prophecy Pokiwis was mixing and brewing Some herbs in an earthen jar The odor of this strange mixture Was caught by the maidens afar. The Medicine Man was brewing To do a favor for me I had asked if my former classmates Could not be shown to me. 'Twas fifteen years since graduation. I was curious to know What the Class of '28 was doing And where each had chanced to go. I, myself, a chemist Of my work had never tired. And I wondered if the others Had attained what they desired. I leaned over the seething cauldron And into the mixture gazed. Pokiwis promised that I should see Each face on the surface upraised. Claire Brock, too, had gone on the stage In many a comical skit Her friend and pianist, Edna Ruck- Well, together they made quite a hit. Here was Evelyn, a librarian. And well, who had we here? Why 'twas Evan Ferguson, A mining engineer. Babe Angove, too, went in for sports And swam the English Channel And Una through her art work Had designed many a panel. Sally,' Skewes was a diplomat, A government worker, she And Lorraine Frazier owned a cat A prim little maid was she. Carolyn was a linguist In a little Spanish town And Harold Hansen's music Could banish every frown. Lorraine Crase was happily married And lived in a bungalow While Muriel was a dancer In a famous Broadway show. A face looked up at me and smiled And I recognized it to be The face of a former classmate Smiling up at me.

,Twas Janet, a famous lawyer And after Janet came None other than jack Adams Of aviation fame. And then came William Harris, A lawyer, too, was he. And Alice Hocking, an expert nurse. They all appeared to me. Jeanette, the tiny studious one Was now distributing knowledge For she a professoress turned out to be In a very prominent college. You'll never guess what Marvin was! I'd never expect you to know it. But though it sounds impossible- Marvin Heather was a poet. Next with a winning football team And an equally winning smile, Bill Andrews, a famous football coach, Was doing something worth while. Agnes Bierwagen full of ambition Was a district school inspector. And Dorothy Hooper, our basketball star, Was a girls' athletics instructor. Anna's an authoressg Ruth Goudge, a poet, Helen Daniel, modiste, and still came more. Hortense was writing history And Emma was running a store. I saw Ursula teaching a country school And next to her I could see In a smart little tea room, spick and span Marg Tupper serving tea. Rosalie Zorman, her saxophone playing Had joined a popular band. They play the very latest hits. They're known throughout the land. Mildred Trathen could always type So it was no surprise to me To see her an able stenographer In a prominent company Isabel was broadcasting O'er station KRZ And judging from her heaters Quite popular was she.
