PRINCIPAL FRANK W. THOMAS Principal In preparing for the future it is necessary for us to realize that a secondary education is essential. Our community is continually in support of our high school with the desire for supplying the needs of youth. lt is the aim of the ad- ministration and faculty to do everything possible to cn- courage students to take adwfantage of what the school has to offer and help them achieve their goal. If we think of our education as the foundation upon which the structure of our future is to rest, we will all be able to work to- gether as we have in the past and continue to establish a firm footing forthe future. RALPH E. JONES District Superintendent SUPERINTENDENT The business of Grants Pass High School is the building of future citizens. Good citizenship is composed of at least three elements: knowledge, attitudes, and action. Knowledge is furnished through such courses as History, Science, Mathematics and English. Attitudes are stressed through extracurricular activities, such as the celebration of patriotic occasions and the development of a code of ethics toward one's fellow students. It is in the area of action that more has been done in recent years than ever before. XVe have come to realize that you can't make good citizens solely by reading and talking about good citizenship. Good citizenship is a way of behaving. It is a matter of action. Ralph E. jones
