Exchange student Sixteen year old Ingrid Gutierrez is this year ' s exchange student from Trinidad, Bolivia. Ingrid comes f rom a family of six where she is the eldest of two sisters and one brother. A few of her hobbies are listening to and collecting records, photography and tennis. Ingrid says that the coiirses here at Grantham are much the same as they are in Bolivia, but they seem harder because of the language problem. In Trinidad they have no choice of subjects. They are re- quired to take Anatomy, Art, Philosophy, Civics, Literature, Phys- ics and Chemistry the first term. The second term they take History, Geography, Math, Physical Education and English. Their classes start at eight a.m. and continue until twelve thirty where upon they break because of the heat until three o ' clock. Then they start back again until five o ' clock. Ingrid ' s reasons for coming to Canada were to understand the lan- guage better, and learn more about Canada itself and Canadians. She finds the people friendly, the weather unique and enjoys the nu- merous changes, such as the autumn leaves and the winter ' s snow. We hope you ' ve enjoyed your year at Grantham Ingrid and your stay in Canada. 14
