l i l i l l l l l ! l STAN RICHES All who came in contact with Stan will re- member him for his kindness, sincerity, and quiet humor. Although unassuming in outward appear- ance, contact with Stan on this year's PAGEANT was like meeting a slow but determined freight. Where other's energy might come in spurts, Stan seemed to possess a well moderated supply. How- ever, there are two sides to this humble senior. During basketball season Stan's energy generated itself. His supply burst into flame, and Stan Riches, the confident cager, emerged. These two aspects of Stan fitted together have supplied us with one more outstanding senior. TO.. We feel that this year's group of outstanding seniors symbolize to the finest degree the cream of the senior class. We of the l962 PAGEANT are proud of these people and for this reason have tried to reward them in a small way with this lection of our annual. We salute these ,ten seniors s definitely worthy of our Roman tradition and spirit. l CHARLOTTE GRADY Energy is the term most applicable to Char- lotte's high school career. With brown eyes flash- ing and brown curls bouncing in the breeze of her activity Charlotte was a well known figure here at Granite Hills. Active on the Pageant Staff for two years and also a very capable and pretty song- leader, Charlotte will remain in the hearts of her fellow students as an emblem of our Roman spirit and energy.

GLORIA WOLF To be popular, of service to your school, and rank tops scholastically is indeed a feat worthy of Roman praise. With her pretty blond pony tail swinging proudly to and fro, Gloria seemed to achieve her laurels with ease. However, we know that hard work applied in the right directions was the equation for her merits. Thank you Gloria for your fine efforts. You will serve as a fine example for future graduates. BARRY VITTOR Self assurance coupled with tinges of modesty best. describe Barry. With a confident and deter- mined stride, Barry conducted a profitable A.S.B. term as president. His fine manners and congenial humor have contributed greatly to his bearing and stature. As a top athlete in Cross Country and Track, he brought many honors home to Granite Hills. Teachers and fellow students alike are aware of his prominent scholastic achievements. The PAGEANT is proud to include this young man among the outstanding. ROMAN HONORS The adiective outstanding is defined in Web- ster's Dictionary as, distinguished or prominent. Using the adiective in this sense we have tried to pick ten outstanding seniors. We based our choices on ratings in five different categories, per- sonality, appearance, citizenship, grades and serv- ice. lt was not required that the choices be out- standing in all five categories, but that they rank high in at least four and not fail any.

MIKE ROARK All set? You bet! And Mike always was all set. Enthusiasm plus generated itself through Mike. Omnipresent at all of our football and basketball games, he seemed to be able to whip any crowd into emotion. When the student body shouted such staunch phrases as we're with ya team so fight! Mike really meant them. Thank you Mike for your outstanding spirit. You have helped establish a precedent that will continue down through the' years as our Roman traditions grow. Service has certainly been Phebes middle name during her high school career. No iob left undone was her motto. Her application of this is most clearly evident in her work on The Clarion.
