School Carnival The Grandin High School carnival was held on Friday, October 12, 1956. A large crowd attended. A door prize which consisted of a flash bulb camera was won by Jacque- line Grage. A box of groceries was won by Carl Myron. A box of groceries was won by like Ietts. Candidates for queen were as follows: Freshman, Elizabeth Jalbert, Soph- more, Shirley Peterson, Junior, Marjorie Fee, and Senior, Judy Anderson who was chosen queen. The main Attraction of the evening was the bingo stand. Other attractions were: a fishpond for the children, a dart throw, a rollette wheel, concess- ions, and lunch was served by the seventh and eight grades. The gross proceeds of the carnival amounted to the sum of S303.85. This money was used for activities throughout the year. Basketball Banquet The boys and girls conference basketball banquet h ld M April 8, 1957 at Grandin. Everyone enjoyed a fine mga? wgichogasogizz' pared by the Mothers Club of Grandin. Entertainment consisted of danc- ing which was followed by a lunch. Bill Weaver was the guest speaker. Everyone enjoyed themselves. The schools participating were as f0110w5g Grandin Ayr Horace Amenia Argusvill D t Ar1:hur,'cnafi'ee, ana'ea1-anerf e' avenpor ' Erie' Mapleton' Lyceum Programs The following Lyceum programs were held during the l956-57 school year at Grandin. October 3, 1956---Lavaux Duo Cinstrumentalj November 26, 1956-Actrobatic December 10, l956-Coleman Puppets January 23, 1957--Liquid Air February 15, 1957-Story Teller Ie had one special program this year in Grandin on May 7. It was C. P. Parkingscn and his famed musical selection. Junior and Senior Prom The Junior and Senior prom was held o M the Elks Club.
