F. Gunkelman Q S088 Grandin, North Dakota SENIQR PROPHECY The Junior Class of 1957 prophecies that George James will attend coll ege. Later he will move to California where he will marry Kim Novak. In college he had majored in law and so becomes a great crim inal lawyer. He will move back to Grandin where he will be well - known for helping people who are in trouble. George will stay in Grandin for two years. He then will move back to California where he will become friends with Elvis Presley. A few years later Donna Gisvold and Nancy Roisum will go out to California and while they are there they will look up Geor e. S George will introduce them to Elvis and Nancy will fall madly in love with him. They will be married and Donna will go to New York where she will become a Television star. Nancy and Elvis will live happily for a yearg Elvis will lose his fame and soom will become very poor. Nancy will be forced to work. She soons gets tired of work and divorces Elvis and moves back to Grandin. While in Grandin she will meet an old sweetheart of hers, Wally Ludwig. They will get married and have ten children. As for Donna she has become a very famous television star, but she soons get tired of living in a big city and she moves back to Grandin. She will marry Charles Nelsong they will build a bi re- sort hotel out in Texas and make lots of money. g While in Texas Donna will have a visit from Judy Anderson who is working as a model in a famous shop. Judy, while in Texas will look up an old boy friend of hers, Gary Bloom. Judy finds that Gary is married to a Mexican dancer and that they have two child- ren. As soon as Gary seefs Judy he will divorce his wife and marr- ies Judy. Judy will give up her Job as a fashion model and just keep hguse. A door prize which consisted of a flash bulb camera was won by Jacque- line Grage. A box of groceries was won by Carl Myron. A box of groceries was won by like Ietts. Candidates for queen were as follows: Freshman, Elizabeth Jalbert, Soph- more, Shirley Peterson, Junior, Marjorie Fee, and Senior, Judy Anderson who was chosen queen. The main Attraction of the evening was the bingo stand. Other attractions were: a fishpond for the children, a dart throw, a rollette wheel, concess- ions, and lunch was served by the seventh and eight grades. The gross proceeds of the carnival amounted to the sum of S303.85. This money was used for activities throughout the year. Basketball Banquet The boys and girls conference basketball banquet h ld M April 8, 1957 at Grandin. Everyone enjoyed a fine mga? wgichogasogizz' pared by the Mothers Club of Grandin. Entertainment consisted of danc- ing which was followed by a lunch. Bill Weaver was the guest speaker. Everyone enjoyed themselves. The guest speaker was William E. Thornton, Supt. of Schools, Buxton, North Dakota. Reverend Emerson J. Sanderson offered the ben- ediction and invocation. Irs. Robert Pratt furnished the,music for the processional and the recessional. Speeches were made by vale- dictorian, Judith Anderson, and salutatorian, George James. The class colors were purple and white, the flowers were red roses and their motto, WWe Finish To Beginn. The eight grade graduates consists of, Ellen Hoveskeland, Dian Ahl- schwede, June Eastman, Allen Woitzel, and Daryl Jalbert. The high school graduating class consisted of Judy Anderson, George James, Nancy Roisum, and Donna Gisvold. Junior Tournament A Junior tournament was held at Grandin on February 28, larch 1, and 2. The following boys and girls teams took part in the tourn- ament: Grandin, Gardner, Bohnsack, Ayn Argusville, lapleton, Erie, Arthur. In the girls tournament Gardner took first and Grandin took second, Bohnsack took third and Argusville took fourth. In the boys tournament Grandin took first and Arthur took second, Ayr took third and Erie took fourth. Music Festival The Cass County music festival was held at the Fargo High School on Saturday, May 4, 1957. Dean Peterson played a piano solo and received highly superior. Ara Peterson played a piano solo and received highly superior. JoNe1le Gordon played a piano solo and received highly SUP- erior. The girls glee club sang WI Pass By Your Window'. They receiv- ed highly superior. The mixed chorus sang 'Fair Are The Meadows . They received highly superior. Everyone did very well and they all got highly superior. Christmas Program On December 20, 1956 the grade rooms gave a very interesting program. The program was presented by the grades and the high school. The High School sang Christmas Carols between the scenes. After the program the high school students helped Santa Claus pass out the presents. Baccalaureate Baccalaureate services were held on Sunday, lay 19, 1957 at the Grand- in Auditorium. Reverend Emerson J. Sanderson officiated.
