HISTORY In 1942 we started our first year of school with eight students. They were Jo Elliott, Evonne Woitzel, Patsy Garrett, Norman Helgeson, Donna Humphrey, Lloyd Johnson, Lynn Thompson, and Dennis Anderson, In February 1943 Jo left us to go to Portland, Oregon. The second year found the same students with Jo coming back in A.pril. The third grade class was the same as the year before. We lost Donna, Dennis, Lynn, and Norman in the fourth grade but we gained Allan An- derson who came from Hunter. In 1946, our fifth year in school, Lloyd left us for the west coast. As we entered the sixth year of our schooling we gained Sharon Biel. ln the seventh grade we gained Marlys Willert, Ruth MacDonald, and Opal Biel, During our eighth grade year Marlys, Opal, Ruth, and Allen left us. This left Evonne, Jo, Sharon, and Patsy entering high school in 1950. ln our freshman year the class remained the same. ln our sophomore year we lost Patsy but gained Evelyn Herum. In our junior year we lost Sharon when she moved to Caledonia, Our class remained the same in 1954 and we have a grand total of three stu- dents graduating from good old Grandin High School. WILL We, the Senior Class of 1954, of Grandin High School, being of sound mind and good judgement, do hereby declare this our last will and testament: To Mr. Fee we leave our gum wrappers and to Mr. Lang a bottle of aspirins. We give Miss Thompson the strength to stand a new batch of first graders next fall. We leave Mrs. Herum all kinds of sheet music and a new piano. We also bestow Mrs. Sather with the girls basketball team. We leave our ability to get along with the teachers to the Fresh.- men. To the classes of 1955-56 we leave the job of publishing the GREMLIN and the an- nual. To next yearis girls basketball team we leave strength to beat Gardner. To the Freshmen, Sophomore and Junior classes we leave the new gym and the ability to get out in four long years. Evonne wills her'heighth to Harley and George, her senior privileges to Judy, her way with boys to Deanna, her muscles to Dickie, and to Beverly she leaves nothing because she has been disobedient to her. To Arlo she leaves the 1055 she has owed him for three years. Evonne leaves her ability to not get caught chewing gum to Frances. Evelyn bequeaths her quietness to Carol, her talent at the piano to Jean, and her ability to sew to Barbara. She gives up her knowledge of basketball to Beverly in hopes that she will put it to good use. Evelyn leaves her singing voice to Ronnie and all her unwrit- ten poetry to Arlo so that he need never again refuse to write it. Jo wills her ability to stay thin to Mary, her long locks to Jackie, her artistic ability to Jean, and her long fingernails to Carol. Jo gives Barbara the luck to get a diamond during her senior year and to Deanna, the ability to get 34 points in a basketball game. In witness thereof, we hereby set out hand and seal, this 12th day of May, in the year of our Lord, one thousand, nine hundred, and fifty-four. s 1953 - 54. 10
