lass istory In September of the year 1940, forty small, scared members entered the first grade of the Grand Gorge Central School Miss Derby was our patient teacher that year By the time we graduated from the eighth grade our class had fallen in number to fifteen On entering high school we were a pretty green bunch of freshmen, and scared to death of our initiation But we Survived our fir t year in high school without too many eventful happenings We elected Jean Cha e as our president that year Our second year in high school we numbered thirteen for one month It was in October that Bob Laynan was stricken with polio thus making our class an even dozen Bob is in the hospital in Schenectady That year we elected Herman Schwarz as our pres ident e made a paper for our class called the Ncophomore Hi Lightsn we initiated the Freshmen that fall, and tried to get even for the beating we had taken, but we found out it is more fun to be initiated than to administer it to others Our Junior year we o dered our rings Ve could hardly wait for then to come Je didn't have to wait long, for they came before Christmas Even though sore didn't keep them too long, we were very proud to have them In April, belore the Seniors went on their trip, they let us take over the ice cream and candy sales Ne started right in thinking up ways of making money for our long awaited Senior trip Now that we are ready to graduate we number twelve, some of us having been together for the full twelve years One main event of our Senior year was our play, entitled, HThe Real hr McCoyH This was a huge success and we even took it to Roxbury We have been working very hard all year to earn money for The climax of the Senior year the Senior Trip We plan to go to both New York City and Washington We have had some very wonderful and happy times together and hope that we won't separate too much during the years to come ii 7,1139 Mkizl 5' fzbtbiiizf mx .X
