Spirit Week Varied Fun Days The participation of the Highlanders during spirit week this year was stupendous! There were fun 'n games each day of the week, coinciding with the particular day. Monday was Hawaiian Day. To add to the beach scene there were volleyball games on the lawn. The Scots doubled up in fun on Tuesday with Twins Day, in a look-a-like fashion. Athletes covered the school on Wednesday for Sports Day. lt was highlighted at lunch with impromptu games such as hockey, baseball, and football. Thursday brought back memories of the fun-filled days of the 5O's, with a sock hop and music from the 50's at lunch. 1. Deanne Paul is ready to hit the beach on Hawaiian Day. 2. Sue Mars and Missy Fink dance to the music of the 50's. 3. Cool Seniors, Jim Terrell and Lisa Wells, hang out in the quad. 4. Cone-heads, Leslie Barer and Vicki Shipkowitz, invade Granada. 5. Homecoming Cheryl Clark Captures Crown Wild and crazy Highlanders cruised by the excited crowds in the traditional Homecoming Parade. Steve Martin palled up with Bugs Bunny to receive the first place float which was concocted by the seniors. The Juniors Pooh Bear and the spirit squad's Haunted Mansion floats drove away with second and third place cakes. Crowned Queen was Cheryl Clark with her court being, Deanne Paul, Ann Ohsawa, Fiama Fricano, Laura O'Flaherty. Granada shut out the Braves with a score of 35 zip! 1. Last year's Queen Sue Crowley crowns an elated Cheryl Clark as 1979 Homecoming Queen. 2. Homecoming Queen Cheryl Clark and princesses ftopl Deanne Paul, Ann Ohsawa, fbottoml Fiama Fricano, and Laura O'Flaherty, 3. The Jubilant Juniors' jump for joy when receiving second place float. 4. First place float was given to the Wild and Crazy Senior class. Bugs rode in front one way and Steve Martin 'mooved and grooved' on the other.
