Holiday Concert Music Selections Spotlight Christmas The annual Holiday Concert was held Thursday evening, December 18 in Highlander Hall. The concert featured the music and singing of the Girls' Glee, Stage Band, Hampton Singers, Orchestra. and Choir. The Girls' Glee sang such popular Christmas tunes as Winter Wonderland while the Stage Band followed showing the audience some of their jazzy big band style. The Hampton singers also performed Christmas songs. The Orchestra presented a medley of traditional Christmas carols, and the choir sang a variety of seasonal songs. The climax of the evening was the choir and the Orchestra's joint presentation of The Heavens are TeIling and Alleluia Chorus. 1. Miss Chamberlain leads the Girls' Glee in a Christmas tune. 2. Alison England conducts the Hampton singers in their performance at the Holiday Concert. ea. 27

Pops Concert Program Presents Popular Selections Since 1973, the Highlanders have presented an annual Pops Concert. This year's concert was held November 13 in Highlander Hall. The performing artists were choir members who needed to try out in order to participate in the show. The program included such numbers as Money from the motion picture Cabaret sung by Alison England and Paul Nakauchi, an old-time hit King of the Road presented by Mark Le Vang on the piano, and a medley of John Denver songs performed by Denise Railla and Tony Oliver. The American Field Service student from Japan, Tomomitsu Arikuni, accompanied himself on the guitar while singing a Japanese folk song. The Hampton singers and the choir also added a few of their selections to the program. 1. Sue Speth and Victor Stein perform The Doll on the Music Box from the movie Chitty Chitty Bang Bang . 2. Laurie Grimaldi and her partner join together in portraying Fanny Brice from the movie Funny Girl . 26

Snowball King, Queen Reign At Winter Dance Granada's annual Winter Vice Versa was held on Saturday, December 13th in Highlander Hall and was given the title Snowball. For the first time, the Highlanders changed the court to include a King and six Princes. The court was nominated and elected by the student body. Shirley Sakaguchi, last semester's Queen, crowned Denise Railla, Vice Versa Queen and Tony Bernardo, Vice Versa King. Those elected as Princes and Princesses were: 10th grade Karen Oh, Gigi Railla, Brian Coleman, and John Gausche, 11th grade Deanna Ruby, Jackie Webb, Don DeMint, and Scott Soller, 12th grade Kathy Sakaguchi, Georgene Walker. Cliff Ruby, and Dan Soller. 1. Couples sit for e few moments of relaxation during dance. 2. Sold out Vice Versa attracted many couples to the dance floor. 3. Couples await patiently in line for their pictures. 4. The refreshment table was a popular spot at the dance. 5. The 1975 Vice Versa brought the crowning of Queen Denise Railla and King Tony Bernardo.
