The only setback was a dis- heartening defeat at the hands of Taft in the first league game. Outstanding players on this year's team were junior halfback Bob Smith, who scored 6 touchdowns, and senior guard Barry Penzel, who made many key tackles and blocks. Both Penzel and Smith were on the All West Valley Bee first team. Other players who excelled were Tom Slasor, Bill Ord, and Ron Fiyi.
