VV111 ter Party The recreation committee picked a perfect January after- noon for their annual winter party where students enjoyed several hours of tubing on the icy slopes at Spring Lake Park. After the activity, the tubers warmed up over hot chocolate provided by the snack shop. Those who attended the party may have had a few stiff and sore muscles afterwards, but the cost was well worth the afternoon of fun and relaxa tion. Activities 29

SBA Faculty Newly Wed Game What was the first meal your wife fixed for you? Where did you go on your Hrst date? What would you do if your husband brought home a stray cat? These are some examples of the questions asked at the faculty version of The Newlywed Game, held by the SBA. Ward Childerston served as emcee for the two games consisting of five couples each. Faculty couples strove to remember details in the past and showed how much they really knew about each other. It was enjoyable to see these people in a more informal situation and to learn more about them. Between the two games, the audience was entertained by a stu- dent group, Mr. Nerd Burford and company. 28 Activities

The second semester Day of Prayer had as its emphasis intercessory prayer for oth- ers. The day started with the prayer breakfast, which in- cluded a devotional by Steve Prieb, special music by Jen- nifer Johnson and Mika Tsuneda, and prayer around the tables. After this came prayer with counselor- counsellee groups. In the ser- vice that followed, Paul Ny- quist, pastor of Evangelical Bible Church, spoke on inter- cessory prayer as participa- tion, not manipulation. 30 Activities a 0 Prayer - x Speaker: Paul Nyquist
