.M 'X . . . and your host, Steve Barger The Birth of KGBI-F M On November 25, 1964, the Federal Com- munications Commission granted CBI permis- sion to establish a 30,000 watt FM radio broad- casting station. The station is operated non-com- mercially, in faith that God's people will sup- port this ministry by prayer and gifts. KGBI-FM went on the air May 17, 1966, with a primary listening radius of about 30 miles and secondary radius of up to 60 miles. Broadcasting seven hours a day initially, radio time was extended to 17 hours per day after October 1, 1966.
