UNRUH Field Nlan Departments of Instruction Bible Department The Bible is at the heart of each course offered at Grace Bible Institute. It is the major in all the programs of instruction. The Bible has been given a place of such importance in the ciuriculurn be- cause Grace seeks to prepare stu- dents for church-related Christian ministries. A three-year General Bible program is offered which leads to a diploma. This program prepares students for service as laymen and serves as a basis for other under- graduate work. Christian Education Department li Dr. Anna Bieger is Director of the Christian Education Depart- ment. This department offers three .programs-Religious Education, Christian Education, and Christian Education and Music. Its piupose is to give training in how to com- rnunicatethe Bible to various age groups, and to give assistance to other departments in the training of Christian workers. Missions Department Mr. Anderson is the instructor, of the Missions Department. The missionary program has been de- signed to train students for foreign missionary service. Courses :in this program are geared to prepare the prospective missionary to care for his own physical and spiritual needs under the varying circumstances of different mission fields, to acquaint him with the various cultures and religions of the world, to familiar- ize him With requirements and policies of present day mission boards, and to teach effective methods of communicating the gospel in heathen lands. .af t, ,Z Era 3 ggi 'f K. .jj , t , .i IJ 5, IVE l 'Q' gba f' f' 'x Music Department Mr. Wiebe is the Director of the Music De- partment. Realizing the effectiveness of music, the department offers two programs. The -Sacred Music Program seeks to Uain students in various ministries of music, and to give the student an opportunity to participate in public performances. The Christian Education and Music Program combines these objectives with those of the Christian Education Department. Pastoral Ministries Department Dr. Burkholder is the Director of the Pas- toral Ministries Department. The two programs in this department are designed for those who are called to be pastors. Students in these pro- grams are given a systematized study of Bible doctrine, a study of the Creek language, and training in how to conduct special services and carry out the practical aspects of a pastor's re- sponsibilities. Psychology and Philosophy Department f , Mr. Schrag is the instructor of the Psychology and Philosophy Program. In this program the stu- dent is given courses which help him to understand and evaluate the trends of thought and ideologies of the day, and courses which help him to understand human behavior. Each fall during Bible Conference and again during the final week of school the Board of Directors meets. These dedicated men determine the policies of Grace Bible Institute. Because of their prayerful concern, and the long hours spent in deliberate planning, they have helped this school become what it now is and are laying the groundwork for its future growth. On its pages have been written many spiritual victories and life-long commitments to the Lord. We have experienced spiritual growth, being nurtured by dedicated insmictors of Gods revelation and beingguided by the Holy Spirit. Academically We have made another stride in attempting to understand in a measure Godis marvelous creation and handiwork. However, we must not rest upon past victories and growth. God has a special plan for each one of us. It would be interesting to prolect ourselves twenty years down the corridor of time and see each one of our student body in his own unique place of service. Let us now determine as Paul did to, . . press toward the mark for the puze of the high calling of God in Christ jesus. Voth-President Macedonian Missionary Fellowship Ulu: lvresirlent Speaks . . The outstanding truth that I have learned this year while serving in the M.M.F., is that of Hebrews 11:6: But without faith it is impossible to please Himg for he that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek himf' The objects of our committee were the following: flj To challenge and encourage individuals to accept and obey the call to missionary service, Q22 To encourage and provide opportunity for systematic giving and to channel gifts received, C31 And to instill the desire and provide opportunity for prayer in behalf of missions. The committee members and sponsor who served together with me were dedicated and competent. It was a blessing to meet together to pray and take care of the necessary business. It was also a blessing to see how the students responded in attending our services and prayer bands, and also in giving towards the projects. In looking back we see how the Lord provided and always revealed His will in His time. He tested our faith through the missionary conference project, and especially spoke to our hearts through the speakers. All of this points to the fact that God could only speak to us and use us as we trusted Him in faith. john W. Voth 4 at ia . W if ,'tifQf..Nf- -'fi NI.M.F. committee with conference theme.
