D 4A!13Kf?MA LIBRARY TAHLEQUAH, OKLAHOMA 371.897 6608 CHA , 1962 Charis 1962 Dechcahon REV. DANIELJ. UNRUI-I --Interim President of Grace Bible Institute, 1960-61. --Member and President of the Board of Directors of Grace Bible Institute for many years. --Pastor, evangelist, youth leader, mission- ary statesman. For all these qualities and accomplishments we honor you. - But above all, for your life-long dedication to Christ and to the truth of His Word, and your hum- ble, prayerful spiritual leadership which has en- deared you to all the Grace Family, we grate- fully dedicate the 1962 CI-IARIS. 1 Y During service in Oregon. Upon graduation from Moody Bible Institute 09211. 4' 5 I it 48 3 During evangelist ic services in Mountain Lake . During 16 years Ministry in Kansas. K. ,,, Traveling to special meet- ings in Canada. ff' MMM 1962 Grace O h Nb k C HAR I S Institute -I Joseph, by the hand of the Lord, found himself, as God's representa- tive, in the evil and debaucherous land of Egypt. The inhabitants and facilities of this land were designed to turn him aside from service to the Lord. But, by the grace of God, Joseph was de- livered from every snare and pitfall in the land of Egypt. Grace Bible Institute stands today by the grace of God, as His stronghold against the legions of Satan, a training ground for young people carrying forth the word of light into a rapidly darkening world, for the Lord Jesus Christ. 2 J When this one purpose no longer retains its position of prime importance, Bible Grace ln- stitute no longer fulfills the purpose for which God ordained it. To fulfill this purpose, each student, staff and faculty member must be, as was Joseph, an individual, representative of the Grace and Power of God, illustrating to this present evil and debaucherous land, the grace and peace found in the person of Jesus Christ. 3 PIX The Grace of God has been superbly displayed in the origin and sustenance of Grace Bible Institute. For this reason, the word XAPIE, which is the greek word for GRACE, has been select ed to represent this institution . Our GI-IARIS, then, which is the English ren dering of the greek XAPIE, simply means GRACE, and is, therefore, representative of all that we are and have in the Lord jesus Christ . 4 Our New President I have chosen you, I have appointed you . . . that you might go and bear fruit, Un, 15:16--Amp. N,T.j. These significant words were uttered by the Lord jesus Christ in his closing message to his disciples . ' CHOSEN of God--each of us is singled out from among the mass of believers . As in the early church at Antioch, the Holy Spirit is saying today, Separate now for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them . APPOINTED to go and bear fruit. The appointment is twofold: QD to go WI-IEREVER lost man may be--bringing the joyous tidings that a Savior has come. The appointment is also Q25 to bear fruit. Going in itself doesn't make missionaries or soul -Winners, our objective must be to bear fruit--abiding fruit May every young life at Grace Bible Institute, pictured in these pages, step forth with a deep sense of CALLING and APPOINTMENT and may God grant abundant, abiding fruit .
