The Grace roundball squad began the winter with a 15-2 mark, but three straight losses at mid-season to three different mid-Central conference schools, Tri-State, Huntington, and Goshen, spoiled any goal of taking the crown away from Tri-State. The Lancers ended the year with a 21-9 record, while 8-4 in the MCC. Doug Noll, a junior, set many new school records, including the most points scored in a season with 787. He connected on 50 percent of his shots from the floor and swished 229 of 257 from the free throw line for 89 percent accuracy. Three fine seniors will be departing the squad and their leadership will be missed. All three, Greg Huston, Roger Haeck, and Steve Nelson have starting experience. Huston is the second top assist man in Grace history, while Haeck was known for his tough defense. Nelson was noted for his twenty-foot swishers. 1. Keith Heingartner shows his prowess underneath. 2.
