Sparked by Cathy Garrick who received the Best Offensive Player award and Becky Stewart the unanimous choice for the Best Defensive Player award, the team compiled a near perfect record for their first season in several years. Senior Diane Castro was awarded the honor of being the player dis¬ playing the most sportsmanlike conduct. Plans were already being made for a more thorough raking tor the area colleges in the ’74-’75 season by the leminine version of the “Big Red Machine.” 75

“America, Of Thee I Sing” titled the Americans For America Week 1974 version. On Monday, students were intrigued with the address of Wesley G. Pippert, a United Press International reporter chosen to cover the Watergate incident. Indiana Lieutenant Governor Robert Orr was the featured speaker in the Tuesday chapel session. Wednesday’s chapel was filled by students chosen as winners in the composition, art, speech, and class decorations contests. A time of prayer for the nation was set aside during the Thurs¬ day chapel time. A musical salute was presented for the students on Friday morning. A special performance closed the week as the Kiwanis Travelogue “America, Of Thee I Sing,” narrated by Robert Brouwer, was shown on Friday evening. Grace College was awarded the George Washington Honor Medal (Campus Category) by the Freedoms Foundation of Valley Forge, Pa., for the widely recognized Americans For America Week program h eld annually by the college.
