QThere were 35 Mondays this school year but my family and I were stranded by flood waters in Sabino Canyon on one of them -- remember? If it were required of me to sunmarize all the different Bible topics taught this year into only one word, then that word must be - UNITY. Recall with me the first menory verse of the year, HBehoZd how good and how pleabanf it ia gon bncthnen to dwell fogcfhcn Ln unitgu. My heart has rejoiced as I have watched students encouraging, helping and enjoying one another. My heart has ached as I saw students arguing among thenk selves or excluding other students from school activ- ities. Remember that Jesus loves you whether you are helping a friend or arguing with a friend. Have you learned that valuable lesson, however, that life is just more fun when you make that extra effort to help others, encourage others and love others? Behold how good and how pleasant it is. By keeping close track of overdue books, she helped to teach our students greater , responsibility with their books. We really love you, Nelda! I The tutoring program is meant to individually guide a student in a particular subject area or skills area. MnA. waibon has her students use many different approaches to help them learn their skills. Puppet shows, treasure hunts and taped stories were some of the ways that students could develop their skills. The tutoring program has been a real success as there has been a lot of improvement in skills over the year. Thank you Lord! Our class is really looking forward to swnner camp this year and we are already thinking of ways to earn money to go. We have called ourselves the Club for Jesus this year. I 8th grade Preparing for the future was a connnn theme this year as Eighth Graders learned to work with budgets, work with people and work with organizing their time. Eighth Graders have made it from the disected belly of a frog to the simulated coal mines of Appalachia this year. While MAA. Fnancin urged her students to stress the Hfillet mignonu in their writing, Ma. Bef! was showing students how to make it big in deduc- tions on their future income tax fonns. On a given week day it would be cannon to see students of the Independent Study class working on research papers, outside weeding or helping out in offices around the property. Although the Eighth Graders won't be remembered for their loud singing in devotions, or for their promptness, they will be remembered for a lot of laughs from the G.C S. film production of HThe Gong Show: You Were Thereu, and exotic delicacies prepared for English demonstration speeches. The story began with two children who wandered into a place called Agapeland. There they met a man fthe conductorb and the Music Machine. The conductor demonstrated that when things are placed into the machine that a song would come out. When the conductor put the words from Galatians 5:22 Q 23 into the machine, it responded with songs about each of the fruits of the Spirit. The musical was very colorful, humorous and it taught us each a little about ourselves. r Swim ' af QE? . Q ?'f'fG ,gn 2 - 'Til n' n A ' fi ,ff iw if , 2 L. N. CA ,Q if' , Q52 M' fig?
