ragdonis Are Well Received! - F GZ' L... .- Mr. G Mrs. Bragdon and Katherine February 8, 1984 Any appraisal of the school this year would be remiss if it did not applaud Mr. Bragdon for the com- mendable turn around in attitude he has brought to the school, and how far it has come. It is obvious to anyone who was here last year that the student body has a much more positive attitude, and is more enthusiastic towards the school. Mr. Bragdon has mastered the art of pep talks , and is accessible to the students. He has successfully turned the community in a new and better direction. For the first time in anyone's recollection, no one has been expelled from Governor Dum- mer by this point in the year. How many students can remember being inside the Mansion House, let alone being invited every Saturday night? These Open Houses make the Headmaster less 6 of a figure who can be seen only on rare occasions, but rather a person who can be communicated with and can provide assistance as a friend. This type of communication will prevent the chance of a rift separat- ing the student body and administra- tion, as happened in late February and early March of last year. Mr. Bragdon's open and positive attitude is his greatest contribution to the community. So, Mr. Bragdon, stand up in front of the school and take a well deserved bow. Courtesy of THE ACADEMY FREE PRESS Non sibi sed aliis. exemplifies a very important member of our community: Mrs. Dorothy Bragdon. Headmaster's wives usually complement the role of their hus- bands by serving as official hos- tesses. However, Mrs. Bragdon Cris, Katherine and Bill, Dad and Mom supplements Mr. Bragdon. Her warm hospitality and kindness add vital life to the community. Mrs. Bragdon enrolled in a student photography class. Although she did not have to take the exams, CSomething for which she is very gratefully she learned how to take and develop pictures. Her photo essays consisted of students, a collage of which hangs in the Mansion House kitchen. The true test of her rapport with students came with Open House - a test she passed with flying colors. Saturday nights, Mrs. Bragdon's homemade chocolate sauce simmers on the stoveg pancakes, pizzas, subs or donuts fill the kitchen with not just a pleasant aroma, but many students. Not only does she provide games - Trivial Pursuit, Monopoly, etc - but she feverishly competes with the students. Mrs. Bragdon gracious- ly adds these touches of home for the students. We are fortunate to have her grace the campus with such a thoughtfulf friendly and cheerful presence.
