He held great respect and admiration for its traditions, but he also had many dreams of the changes and improvements that could be made. Eleven years later, many of those dreams are realities. He has been with Governor Dummer through a decade of growth and alteration: a decade which has seen the establishment of coeducation and a flourishing arts program. Through his continued efforts, the school's facilities have been considerably improved. Yet thatis not for what he will be chiefly remembered. The lasting impression that the students and alumni will carry is of a cheerful smile, tireless patience, an oft-visible presence at athletic events. He is a peaceful and kind man, who felt a deep concern for each and every student in his care. He had a difficult job, one that was not always well-understood. Yet he executed it in a way which commanded respect, and he never failed in his understanding of the student body. For that, for his unceasing effort and dedication, and especially for his deep commitment to the school and her students, we wish health and happiness in the years to come, and dedicate the 1983 Milestone to: Iohn Williams Ragle
