The l97l-72 academic year will always he remembered asa turning point inthe history of Governor Dummer Academy. This year has marked the end of a decade of self-evalu- ation, and the beginning of a period of action. lfthere is any one man who has led the school in its introspection, and who has huilt the foundation for its future, it has heen the hcadmaster for this last decade: Valleau Wil- kie. This year's Mll.liSTONli staff is also aware of the inlluence a man's wife exerts upon his actions. and therefore recognizes the role Mrs. Wilkie has played here at Governor Dummer as well. President .lohn lf. Kennedy once said: It is time fora new generation of leadership to cope with new proh- lems and new opportunities. For there isa new world to be won. We believe Mr. and Mrs. Wilkie realize that this time has come to Governor Dum- mer, and hence have stepped down to allow the Academy to advance into a new world.
