...bit A All these questions and more like them were answered throughout the academic year. ln the classroom the girls became students, as any other student at Governor Dummer, and no competition existed to either in- flate or deflate anyone's ego. The masters, forthe most part, seemed to believe the student was neuter, and no favoritism became obvious. It might not have been the Cheerlead- ers, but someone made our football team play better than the two previ- ous years. The rules regarding girls, of course, became more liberal, for who abuses rules at Governor Dummer? No great harm appeared to be done by adding girls to the community. Next year, who knows?

3 Everyone knew that there would be many changes made at Governor Dummer this year as soon as the Headmaster announced the presence of day girls the year before. On opening day one could sense the added excite- ment. From that day onward the school had started moving again. The addition of co-eds to the Governor Dummer community, was for most a pleas- ant change. Girls! A new aura of mystery surrounded all aspects of school life. Would competition in the classrooms destroy many a male ego? Might the faculty be more lenient to one sex or the other? Would the cheerlead- ers inspire new strength in the Governor Dummer athletic teams? How would rules change regarding girls? Would they become more lenient or stricter through abuse?
