At the end of this reassessment all but a scattered few had decided to cut rule-breaking to a minimum. This in my eyes, was a great step forward for the Academy. There have been years when the stu- dents would have said, Who cares'? , and continued in their devi- ance. There also have been years when the faculty would not have at- tempted any type ofcompromise and merely apprehended as many stu- dents as they could have. Never be- fore has there been a year when mu- tual effort such as this has been used to reach a solution to a problem that could have destroyed one ofthe most important mainstays at Governor Dummer, the relationship between students and faculty.
