The Governor Dummer laerosse team opened the season with an easy 15-4 win over the MIT Freshmen. Their fine play continued through the first half of the next game as they held a strong Andover team to three goals, leaving the held at the halt' down 3-2. However, poor defensive play bv the Red in the third period enabled Andover to win 8- 4. The Brown freshman game followed a similar pattern. Down 3-2 at the half, the Governors allowed the bigger and more experienced team to score eight additional goals to their single tally. The lax team regained its Conhdenee by defeating the Tufts Freshmen 22-1. The score was a new Governor Dummer laerosse reeord. The Red team set a new high by edging Exeter for the first time, 7-6. Poor play and a eomplam-ent attitude lost the next game and the league Championship as the Governors were trounced by the St. Paul's Sehool, 9-2.
