Singing got under way in early October under the direction of Nlr. .-Xrthur Sager. w ho in preyious years conducted only the Senior fllee Club. With perseverance and concentrated effort the inexperienced voices were transformed into a smooth-sounding group. ln lfehruary the lvoys had their first chance to expound their talent at a con- cert held in the Cohh lloom with girls from llc-axer Country llay School. An ap- preciatixe audience enjoyed the superh per- formances of President Nathanael Greene and other members of the Quintet as they sang Glorious Apollo. All of the teams looked forward to good seasons and played with the same spirit that had prevailed in the Winter and Fall Terms. President Steve Houghton. who really did an excellent job. Seen taking the day boy attendance was none other than Mike The Vegetable-H Honer. Mikeis turbine was beautiful but was somewhat of a failure since it worked only on compressed air. Casual Hob Kirkwood. when not speaking of the merits of California. aided the Bull at Ho- tary and Kiwanis Club meetings. California,' was the politician of Docis third period class. Time for the spring dance rolled around, and Joe headed the Committee. Pete Fitts had some trouble getting a date. but no one had more trouble than Jay Higgins. Finally Jay was pres- sured to go and he had a really big time. The baseball and lacrosse teams were aided bv the cheers of the girls, Mr. Duggan had a delicious dinner. the band was cool. and the seniors had a good party at the Mansion House. Vtvith the Spring Term almost over. everyone turned to thoughts of summer vacation. hnals. colleges. girls. and prospective jobs. As the Sen- ior Class filed around the Milestone. singing the Senior Song. each one of the class had his own memories and each one sang with true feeling and gratitude. Then the caps were thrown high into the air and the seniors charged to the store stockroom to hand in their gowns. Soon the campus was quiet for another sum- mer. another vear. and another senior classg but to each of this year's seniors went a little part of Governor Dummer, his to carry with him as proudly as a badge of honor wherever he goes. Trite. but true. Some of the Covs had been at Governor Uummer four years. some lor three, and some for twog but no matter how long a boy has been at this school. there are things which will always remain in his mind and in his heart. The last soccer game. which was against Belmont Hill and ended in a scoreless tieg the football game with Moses Brown which ended in the Governors' well earned favorg the glee club dances. even when some of the dates were not beauty queensg the classes with Doc. Rao.
