X111 IIO 3 ' 4 Y 7 l 1 H 1 5 4 Q lllqjll SUNBURST The Archlve staff has declded to use the sunburst as a symbol of the four school districts which comprise the Governor Mifflin Joint School Area A sunburst IS the breaking forth the flashing or the beaming of sunlight The Archive staff feels the Governor Mifflin Joint School Area IS llke a sunburst beaming forth a radiance of educational sunlight which will glow ln all dlrectlons for many years to come Each beam or splre IS symbolic of some community actlvlty which comprises our school area The maior spxres represent the four school districts the three minor splres represent the church the school and the home and the four other segments 1n each section represent all the other component parts of our collectlve community These other component parts represent the people of our area the FRIENDSHIP which exists among them the LOVE which they have for their chlldren the TRUTH whlch 1n the1r leaders the HOPE which they entertain for their chlldrens success the CHARITY which they contr1bute toward the underprivileged among them the TOLERANCE which they themselves possess the UNIVERSAL JUSTICE which they should all exercise toward one another the FELLOWSHIP which is experlenced among them the INSPIRATION which they give to the future generatlons the SPIRIT with which they partlclpate in our Jomture and the PRAYERS which they have for others These are the segments which t1e together the major and minor splres of our sun burst as well as the activities of our combined community these are the characterlstlcs which make our school system a success and these are the attrlbutes which will help to make the students of the Covernol Mifflin Schools better cltlzens and by the same token they will make tomorrow a better America Each sketch m the center of the Sunburst on each divider deplcts the sectlon of the yearbook which is to follow Co Editors JOYCE L RAUDENBUSH LORNA 4 SWEITZER is paramount to attain personal and community securityg the FAITH which they have
