olor Guam' and wirlers Qremonies HIGHLANDER COLORGUARD C. Srhnorr, Captaing S, Bellin, Keller, C. Horner, Estoppey. 4'Band, forward march! four whistles, and Marleen Kaeehele strutted out at the head of the GLRHS band. The twirlers and color guard gave an immeasurable boost to the traditional Highlander spirit. Pepping up pep rallies and parades, the girls performed with practiced confidence. This year, a new twist came to twirling as Mar- leen and Carolyn Schnorr, head of the color guard, did routines to modern music. The girls always acted as a spearhead of friendship for us, and by half time they knew the twirlers of the visiting bands. Of course, by the end of the foot- ball season every girl knew the cheers as well as the cheerleaders, and had the Highland fling well learned. 87 Concentration before half time. S. Rau. The rush behind the stands.
