Stevens, February 28, 1951, the vocal music department presented a dude ranch operetta. ln the opening scene, two cowhands, portrayed by Allyn Chambers and Jearold Nickerson, were trying to hit upon a scheme that would enable them to make a living more easily. They decided to convert their ranch into a vacation spot for dudes. They fell asleep, and the re- mainder of the operetta was their dream about the troubles they encountered on the ranch, and the vacationers who stayed there. Miss Mary, the leading lady, was characterized by Ema Jayne Norsworthv. Marcia Zorn played op- posite Allyn. Other members of the cast were Marian Sall, Margie Gaud- reault, Delores Bailey, Linda Larson, Meredith Roblee. and Raymond Fox, Worthy of note is the tact that Mr. Cogqins composed seven songs tor the operetta, and transcribed all the dialociue. March 21, 1951, was the Easter Cantata. Versatile Max Coggins aqain displayed his talents and adapted From Olivet to Calvary, by Maunder, for the mixed chorus. Long hours nf rehearsals and individual practice prepared the students for the District IV Music Contest held in North Platte. April 13-14. 1951. The final vocal concert of the year was presented May 14, 1951, by the Girls' Glee Club. At rehearsals and all public performances, vocal groups were accompan- ied by Leora Ripoen.
