Gaudre- MEMORIE Linda Larson, Meredith Roblee, Margie Gaudreault, Shirley Olson, Mar- ilyn Nelson, and Leora Rippen represented Gothenburg at the All-State Music Clinic held in Scottsbluff November l6, l7, and 18, 1950. Under the direction of Noble Cain, eminent choral director, the first annual Gothenburg Choral Clinic was conducted December 7, l95O. Over 300 students from eleven different schools in the surrounding vicinity took part in the clinic. Rehearsals during the day prepared the group for the public concert which they presented that evening. A capacity crowd filled the auditorium, and the proceeds from the concert went to the piano fund. A hush fell over the audience. Out of the darkness floated voices blended in Christmas Carols. The curtains parted, revealing a simulated stained glass window bearing a picture of the Virgin Mary and Christ Child. This church-like atmosphere furnished the background for the Christmas Concert, December l9, l95O. The mixed chorus, girls' glee, boys' quartet, and triple trio participated in the program. Featured soloists were Miss Ruth Owen, grade school music instructor, and Mr. Jim Craven, a student at Doane College.
