Toga and punk davs were the rnost popular. where students were Seen wrapped in sheets or with unusual col- or spraved into their hair. Student Council sponsor said. W'e telt that the students thought that a week was too long. Most dressed up on certain davs of the week. Another hu- niorous race was the toilet paper race where a student from each class was wrapped in toilet paper hv classmates and had to he the liirst to sit on a portalnle toilet. The ohstacle course consisted ofwheel hurrowiny. running lwackwards. leap tirogging. a three- legged sack racing. and teani running 'A while tied together with gi rope. During all the races. the participants had to carrv a haton. Once again. the fresh- nien won the competitions. One ol' the high points of the even- ing was the crowning of the lloniee coming queen. Z and 4 performances. Auditions were held Sept. 12. Four- teen students were chosen to begin re- hearsal. One cast memher came a long wav to he in the production. Nadine Miles. an Australian exchange student. was cast as the eccentric Madame Arcatti. Directed hy Mrs, Becky 'l'ichneor and assisted hv student director Amy 'lihe Madame gives directions ot preparation to the mayor cliaracters lor the seance Director Mrs lieckx lichenor, instructs the cast on stage gestures, while Stage Manager Robert l'ranl'cs awaits lurrlier orders Snovvherget. the production rehearsals hegan. linderstudies helped with prompt- ing for a grueling seven weeks. Also involved with the production was the On Stage class. It was responsi- hle for set construction and selling tickets. Roh lfranlcs and assistant Iilaine Wiggins worl-ted together as managers. 'l'he plot revolved around the super- natural vvorld of ghosts. 'l'he protago- nist. Charles. has to deal with his ex- wilie. lilvira. returning to his life as a ghost. while his present wife. Ruth. he- comes enraged with her seemingly der- anged liushand. Dr. and Mrs. liradman assisted with the seances. while Edith provided maid service and comic relief. Other highlights included the use of technical special effects in the seances conducted by the medium, Madam Arcatti. Still. a majority of the total audi' ence.
