lloinecoining week manifested how lun this annual event can lie. lk en though events were new and different. the students gave strong support in the class competitions and for the lioorlnall tearn. There were nianv who dressed up or helped to put up hall decora- tions. A hip cliange in the llorneconiinp week was a shortened spirit week with only two dress-up days instead of tive. The first dav consisted of a conihina- tion of ropa. lbalwv. punk. and lneach dai. The second and last dav was Big Red Dav. when evervone dressed up in red. Toga and punk davs were the rnost popular. where students were Seen wrapped in sheets or with unusual col- or spraved into their hair. Bv winning Messick re eives coveted crown the competition. the tireshnian class proved to he the niost talented dress- Cf-5. ln response to the shortened dress- up days. Mrs. Nelda Miller. Student Council sponsor said. W'e telt that the students thought that a week was too long. Most dressed up on certain davs of the week. Student Council couldnt decide on just one particular dress-up dav. so thev decided to cornhine various op- tions lior one dai. Student Council was also responsi' hle for the return ol' the traditional lwonliire helore the ganie. Miller stated. The honfiire went verv well. I was pleasantlv surprised with how well it went. The pantvhose race proved the tun- niest lwecause fans were alwle to see the guvs rushing to put on .i pair ol' pantx - hose and finish the rate. Another hu- niorous race was the toilet paper race where a student from each class was wrapped in toilet paper hv classmates and had to he the liirst to sit on a portalnle toilet. The ohstacle course consisted ofwheel hurrowiny. running lwackwards. leap tirogging. a three- legged sack racing. and teani running 'A while tied together with gi rope. During all the races. the participants had to carrv a haton. Once again. the fresh- nien won the competitions. One ol' the high points of the even- ing was the crowning of the lloniee coming queen.
