Sisters Practice fliomicide in Pall 15roduction Arsenic and Old Lace. which ran No- vember 4 and 5. was a happy comedy mys- tery that showed off the acting talents of many Thespians and the hard work ol' stu- dents in the On Stage class. Starring roles were played by Brenda Brown and Ashley Kuehl who played two elderly sisters. Abby and Martha Brewster. The plot revolved around the sisters who were admired for their charitible work. One of their favorite charities was that of help- ing poor. homeless old men to their eternal rest by giving them arsenic in elderberry wine. Martha and Abby had raised their neph- ews Teddy tplayed by Dan Orayl. .lon- athon tCarlin Kauffmanj and Mortimer tjohn Gibbonl. Both Teddy and Jonathon were rather odd. Teddy thought he was Teddy Roosevelt and was humored by his aunts. Jonathon was a criminal who had been gone from his childhood home for years and who often changed his face with plastic surgery to escape detection by the police. Jonathon and his accomplice Dr. Ein- stein tTim Savagel wanted to escape from the law with a corpse so they decided that the perfect hideout would be their Aunt's home. The Aunts also had a corpse on hand. Mortimer. a drama critic. discovered both bodies and almost lost his life trying to pro- tect his aunts from Jonathon. The day was saved by police officer O'Hara tAmy Snobergerl w ho doubled asa writer. When she realized that Mortimer ll was a critic. she told him her latest writing accomplishments in lengthy detail, The story ended happily with Mortimer marrying his next door neighbor Elaine tSonya Reschly J. Jonathon going to prison. and Teddy. Abby and Martha moving to the Happy Dale Sanatorium. Technical aspects and acting were di- rected by Mrs. Rebecca Tichenor. with So- nya Reschly and .lohn Gibbon serving as student directors. Juniors Tim Savage and Deb Robinson co-managed stage props and the set. Margaret Hartsough served as lighting crew director. Andrea Thornberg. lilaine Wiggins and Jennifer Odle helped her. The sound crew consisted ol' Barry Walsh. Rick Wedge and Rob Franks. Wardrobe mis- tress was Zoann Haarer who was assisted by Beth Meier and Trish Brown. Other actors and actresses were Scott Rice and Matt Beck. who played Officers Brophy and Klein. David Omo played Mr. Gibbs. one of the ladies' potential victims. Lieutenant Rooney. officer in charge of the other police- men. was portrayed by Robert McKeown. As Mr. Witherspoon. Paul Kallin ran the sanato- rium where most of the Brewsters moved. As the corpses. Brett Mathis played both Mr, Spenzalo and Mr. Hotchkins. s t Teddy Roosevelt tDanny Grayl refuses to give up the Oregon. a toy battleship from his collection. --X QNX 1. imaii U ,,. ' isnt . y.
