Goshen Wins Relays Crown The 41st annual relays was held on a beautiful day, in more ways than one. Not only was the sun shining but for the first time in several years, Go- shen won their own Class B Relays crown. The Class A top honors went to Gary Roosevelt. The Goshen team was Upsyched up before they went into the relays because they know they had a good chance of winning. With close to loo points, the team outdistanced such rivals as second place Concord. r 136 athletes from 40 schools participated in the relays while approximately 4,ooo spectators looked on. Don Gill, a life long resident of Goshen was named honorary referee. lVlr. Gill had worked at every one of the 41 relays. Senior Bridget Leather- man was named Relays Queen after a GI iS student body vote. Changing the timing system to the Acutrac elec- tronic timing method was the biggest change this year. Athletic Director Herb Resler stated, The automatic eye ran perfectly-it was ioofri accurate on every lane. This system added much more class to our relays. unior Geoff Hoffman senior Kip VK ieland junior Doug Burns and freshman Craig Lockerbie take a thrilling xi tory run around the track
