The Royal Visit to the United States was one of the hottest events of the social season. Five dozen of America’s most public personalities got an invitation to a “private” dinner in honor of Charles and Diana at the White House. “Miami Vice” became “the” cop show of the year. Featured are Don Johnson and Philip Michael Thomas, as Detectives Crockett and Tubbs respectively. One key factor in the popularity of the program is the use of music throughout the show.
