THE SOPHOMORE HISTORY We began our high school education in 1945 when we enrolled as Freshmen. We started out with 56 members, but by the end of the year we had only 49 left. Miss Henson, our class sponsor assisted us in selecting the following officers: President -------------- ---- I im Qualls Vice President ----------- --- Ramona Foncree Secretary and Treasurer ------- Sue Pyron Sergeant at Arms -------------- Hattie Killian This year, as intelligent Sophomores, we were added to the list of upper-classmen and no more will be called Green Freshiesn. We began by electing the following officers with the help of Mr. Dunn, our Sophomore sponsor: President -------------- --- - Kathleen Demster Vice President ----------- ---- M artin Shields Secretary and Treasurer -------- Sue Pyron Sergeant at Arms --------- -- Lawrence Gale Russell Moore At the beginning of this year, seven of the former members failed to return. To sustain this loss we have four new members from Murphysboro. They are Anna Lou Kloepper, Carl Dean White, I. D. Dycus, and Sherman Dycus. We are proud of this year's athletes.
