Lines from Life On a train trip Mr. Leinert was thrown from his car-when the train was derailed, and flew ten feet through the air before he hit his head against a concrete post. He lay in a daze rubbing his head, when the conductor came running up. Great scott, mann, cried the conductor, 6'aren't you killed? No , said Mr. Leinert, getting to his feet, Uthat concrete post musta broke mah fall. iiiii Mr. Franz--one of the absent minded type--was recently awakened by the tele- phone at 2 a.m. The caller inquired, ls this one one one? No , answer- ed Mr. Franz. It is eleven, eleven. Oh pardon me , said the caller. Wrong number. Sorry I disturbed you. That's all right , rejoined Mr. Franz I had to get up to answer the telephone anyway . Yiiii You look all in today, Iim. What's the trouble?f' Well, I didn't get home until morning and just as I was undrlessing, my Wife Woke up and said, Aren't you getting up pretty early, Jim? So to avoid an argument I put' on my clothes and came to Work. Xiiii Mr. Weas: All right, Aurelius, what is maneuver? Aurelius: Something you put on grass to make it green. iii!! Father: Why don't you make A's like Laura does? Laura: She's too lazy. Donna: What's that mean? Father: I should think you would know what that means, when all the others are industriously studying or writing their lessons, who is it sits idly in her seat and watches the rest instead of working herself? Donna: 'gThe teacher . xiii! Doris C.z How doyou want me tovwrite uns article? Mr. Franz: I told you five-hundred times to use your own initiative. Doris C.: What's that, a new invention?
