CALENDAR Sept. 3. Books are once more retrieved. New faces and lots of old acquaintances. Sept. 4. New books are ordered. Our 55 green Freshmen are getting the feel of their new world of school. Sept. 5. Some of the Freshmen are determined to use the basement for English room. Sept. 6. First baseball game of the season. Gorham victorious over Ava, 5-1. Sept. 9. Seniors ordered name cards and invitations. Sept. 10. Library opened with fifteen anxious girls who volunteered as student librarians. Sept. 11. . Freshmen initiation. Boys dress as girls and vice versa. Elections for most handsome boy --Dorothy Fritsche and the most beautiful K'girl -James Rader Sept. 13. Baseball game at Wolf Lake. Gorham won. Sept. 1.7. Baseball. Gorham and Grand Tower. In favor of G. C. H. S. --9-O. Sept, 18. Thrills for the Freshmen and guests. A hay-ride at M'boro Park. Sept. 19. Thrills and lots of spills for the excited Sophomore class as they celebrated their first outing at the roller skating rink at M'boro. Sept. 20. Baseball game. Gorham versus Vergennes. Sept. 24. Sept. 27. Baseball game- -Vergennes here. Oct. 1. Merit and Demerit system is getting under Way. Goshl Those cute little yellow slips , relate the Freshies. Oct. 3. Pictures taken. I didn't know We had so many good-looking kids in school says Mr. Lienert. Why don't we have pictures made more often? Junior Box-supper. Wonder whose box Jackie Dean Brown got? Did you have enough to eat, Iackle? Oct. 4. Gorham's ball players go to Campbellhill to Win a game 4-3. Carnival being planned. The queen candidates are having a tough time. May the best gal winll Oct. 7. Several grunts today, as always on those old 'blue Mondays . Hard week-end, Mr. Harn? Oct. 8. Basketball game. Wolf Lake, here. Oct. 11. Teachers' Institute. Vacation for entire student body. Oct. 18. F.H.A. Show Oct. 22 Library Conference at Anna, Illinois. Miss Slechticky was accompanied by two student librarians. The day was spent discussing the use of the Library and suggestions for a better system of checking books. Oct. 25. Fun and more fun. G.C.l-LS. Carnival. Everyone who came had fun, 'fromthe oldest to the youngest. Bingo seemed to be the most liked game. Carnival queen-Edris Jarrett. Oct. 30. First Senior Party. The class, plus guests, had a Weiner roast at Riverside Park, then Went to the Murphysboro Roller Rink for an evening of relaxation. Did I hear someone say Relaxation ? Oh my aching back!! Nov. 1. Must be going to be a bad month. You know the old saying lf it rains on the first day of a new month then the month will have at least fifteen rains. Don't forget to wear your rain coats and hats, Kids.
