GIRLS' CHO RUS Every Monday and Wednesday morning a group of high school girls no to the music room for chorus. What don't the boys get a chance to show their talents this year? Of course they do, but they must wait until Tuesdays and Thursdays for their chance as we now have both agirlsf and a boys' chorus instead of a mixed chorus. The girls' chorus has thirty memhers, and theofficers are: Fern Arheiter, President, June Kenpfer, librarian, and Tillie Jo Hiser, reporter, secretary, and accompanist. Because of the war program, gas and tire rationing, etc., the chorus will he unable to attend anycontestthat may be given. However, Miss Gaunt and the girls are working hard to preeare a program for their firstpuhlic appearance as soon as the new auditorium is finished. As the annual must be in Hr. Spicth's hands before this program is presented, we shall outline the plansfor the program as they stand nt the present time. The part of the musical entertainment which the girls' chorus will present is entitled, nAn OldSouthern Albumn. Fern Arheiter, as the narrator, tells the story of each portrait in the album while the chorus members colorfully dressed in formnls, sing songs of the south. Following is a hrief synopsis of this musical: The chorus sinus HBeautiful Dreamern after which Fern tells about the first page of the album on whichare portraits of HGreat Grandfnthern portrayed by Peggy Clendenin and pGreat Grandmothern hy Jewell Cluster.Next the chorus sings HPut On Your Old Gray Eonnetn. Thus as each picture is revealed, the story is related to the audience through the narrator and sonrs of the chorus. Portraits: .Thelma Gulley .......Chorus Confederate soldier.5..
