SQ The Senior Glass Gorham High School Gorham, Illinois Dear Schoolmates, Here it is the latter part of the Second Semester, and you are thinking about graduating. How we shall hate to see the day some when we shall bid you farewell!!! We Know we can never be as much help to the teachers as you have been. We admire you for your dignity and studious behavior at all times, especially in the classrooms and the study hall. We shell try to follow your example, but some- times we are afraid we shall never come up to the standard set by you. we pay trubute to the Seniors of '44 for being the most outstanding class ever to graduate in this school. We shall miss your sweet, smiling faces as we saunter through the hall, moreover, we shall miss your chatter about the good times you had over the week-ends, when we sometimes wondered if all the things you did were really so much fun. Remember February 9, when you had your pictures taken. How important you were! And Lou we envied you for your pio- tures first in the annual with that coveted NSENIORSN in the middle, all in capital lettersg ' We, the Juniors of G. C. H. Ju N aoras BOX BUFFER On November 3, 1943 the Junior Class decided to hold a box supper on the ,night of November 18 in the New Study Hall. Mr. Larkie Snider promised to auction the boxe The S. evening proved to be a very successful one. Besides the fun provided by auctioning all the boxes, there was a variety of entertainment consisting of a fishing pond, cake walks, cake guesses, and various contests Everybody wanted to guess the contents of a small cake baked in the form of a lamb. Katherine June Snider Won by guessing what-it contained ---- a small American Flag. Contests were held such as: The The The The The to determine certain questions Sourest Person in the House--Chuck Aldrige biggest sissy--Kenneth Born sweetest girl--Ruth Eckert l biggest sucker--Jeff Hiser spooniest couple--Tillie Jo Hiser Melvin Brush After expenses were deducted, the Juniors had 565g67 to their credit. The class feels that much of this success was due to Mr. Snider's ability as an auctioneer and wishes to thank him for this service. The Juniors have decided to use this money in entertaining the Seniors and Faculty on an all--day picnic at Crab Orchard Lake, Saturday, May 27.
