We got underway under the leadership of Bill Macklin, Presi- dent, Alfred Bosio, Vice President, Frances Ambrosini, Secretary, Rodrigo Castillo, Treasurer, and Leandro Perez, Sergeant-at-arms. During the fall many of our boys playedkon both Varsity and Junior Varsity football teams, After the successful Freshman Return Party Alfred Bosio Vice President came Christmas vacation, the semester, and exciting basketball sea- son, We were especially proud of Rodrigo Castillo, high scorer in the B League lightweight division. Other sophomore boys on that team were Rudy Yniguez, Robert Celaya, and Jessie Dominguez, who all played outstanding games. The Class elected Norma Pedevilla as Barn Dance Queen Candidate and sent Sondra Gronningen, Vernon l-levrin, Carolyn Murray, and Beverly Nielsen to l-lonor Band, and Paulette Antrim, Ann Lopes, and Sammy Grijalva to Honor Chorus. Frances Ambrosini S Y The Honor Society claimed Sondra Gronningen, Irma De Pratti, ecre ary Dolores Caprara, and Melva Griffin, while many other Sophomore girls joined the Block The class accomplished things such as voting on a standard school ring and raised money on dances and the Talent Show. ln all these there was the guidance of our advisors, Miss Rodgers, Mr, Titus, Mrs, Lovett, and Mr. Cahaon, whom we wish to thank sincerely, The '52-'53 year wound up on June twelfth, graduation, and the Class of '55 found themselves looking ahead to the year as Juniors, and another happy, fun-filled time at G.U.l-l,S. wziofc Ufass Under the excellent leadership of Gary Stubblefield, President, Josephine Hook, Vice President, Nancy Lee, Secretary, Ruth Barn- well, Treasurer, and Amado Saenz, Sergeant-at-Arms, the Junior Class proved their ability as upper-classmen. Our financial status was greatly helped when we sold hot dogs, cakes, coffee, candy, and gum at the football and basketball games under the care of 4June Brooks, Jean Skanse, and Charlene Morris. Our class rings were ordered as soon as possible, and we received them in December. At the Homecoming Game Josephine Hook reigned as Queen and Joan Hook her assistant. At the games, Patsy Pura led the band as head majorette with Nancy Lee and Lavella Dionne assistant maiorettes. Joan Stockdale and Eugene McRae rallied our school spirit as assistant yell leaders and Doyleen Hooks led the pom pom girls in their first appearance. Jim Kosinski was placed on the mythical All C.C.A.L. and led the B-Section basketball teams in scoring. Patsy Pura was our Queen at the Barn Dance. Dena Shanks and Ruth Barnwell represented us in the Honor Society. Ruth Barnwell won the Lion's Student Speakers Contest in Gonzales. Dena Shanks was chosen to go to Girls' State and David Gularte and Gary Stubblefield were chosen for Boys' State. The Junior Carnival proved very prosperous and the Junior Senior Banquet at Mission Ranch was enjoyed by all. We wish to thank our advisors, Mr. Woodruff, Miss Fossel, Mrs. Bassi, and Mr. Harper.
