IO, l952, the class of 53 entered the portals of Gonzales Union High School as mighty seniors. The forty-six seniors did extremely well this year under the leadership ot their Class President, Lupe Correa, Vice President, lnes Rubbo, Secretary, Wilma Macklin, Treasurer, Betty Redtern and Frank Vanoli as Sergeant-at-arms. Ines Rubho A big undertaking was the putting on of the Senior Play, V'Ce'P'eS'dem Glamour Boy, which was directed by Miss South and proved to be a big success both dramatically and financially. The Seniors made up nearly one half of the l-lonor Society this year, with ten members, Don Boysen, Charles Lanini, Joel Rodriguez, Marlene Ambrosini, Shirley Bales, Lorraine Corda, Shirley Gnesa, Evelyn McCabe, Wilma Macklin and Bernette Wimer, Many students also honored the class by participating in l-lonor Wilma Macklin Band, chorus, ,orchestra and in all sports during the year, On May l3, Secretary l953, the Seniors were royally entertained by the Juniors at a lovely banquet, which was followed by dancing. The annual Senior Ditch Day was held during the last part at the year and also the Annual Senior Ball, given in the school gym, was a joyous affair. As this school year comes to an end the seniors venture forth into other schools ot learning, to careers, or to homes of their own.
