The cast was picked from class members, many of whom had had experience in last year's play. Our play couldn't have been as successful Without the direction of Miss South, who qave up her time to help us. Thanks go to Mr. Harper and many other people who helped put on the play. YELL LEADERS Bernadette Nunes, Gloria Tonini, Virginia Simpson VEll LEIIDERS llllll IIIHJORETTES Two of the most important groups of girls at our football games are the major- ettes and yell leaders. At the football games and at parades you could always see our five major- ettes leading the band. They were always there, although it was cold at times. Burrrrr! If you have ever watched them in action you would say that they made every effort to add spirit to the occasion. This is the last year for our senior majorettes Maryetta Lawson, Evelyn Cac- cia, and Margaret Tisdel. We regret that Rosemary Savino had to move away for when she did we lost a good majorette. To run for head yell leader a girl for boyl must have had a year's experience. Our yell leaders attended both of the cheerleaders' conferences in Salinas and Monterey. These conferences are held for the purpose of bringing the yell leaders together to discuss means of improving their rooting sections. Gloria Tonini deserves our hearty thanks for all the work she has done dur- ing her three years as head yell leader. The play was presented on March 10, 1950, under the direction of Mr. Hines and Miss Rodgers. The class presented skits for the high school and a dress rehearsal for the grammar school. A party was given tor the cast, the production crew, and their guests after the play. The class enjoyed presenting Campus Quarantine and wish to thank Mr. Hines and Miss Rodgers for their wonderful direction, and Mr. Harper for mak- ing the stage settings.
