The Square became the center of attraction on the last night of the 1977 Come-and-Take-It Celebration. A fun filled weekend that started with the annual G.H.S. Homecoming football game where Pam Atkinson was crowned queen. After the game many Gonzaleans poured to the square to enjoy the booths, street dance, and just being with friends. Saturday brought the annual parade. The carnival and rodeo attracted much attention in the Independence Park. Sunday, though all the booths were closed, entertainment still continued as a number of various choirs performed on the square. On Monday another Come- and-Take-It Celebration came to an end, all the smiles and happy moments will long be remembered. A. After a big night the Homecoming Court still looked good during the Parade. B. Hard Boiled Eggs and Pepto - Bismal, what a combination. Even Kelly is wondering what kind. C. Linda Carter grits her teeth as she tries to win the doubles sack race with partner Jason Barnett. D. Even in the hot sun the Apache Flames keep in stride during the Come-and-Take-It Pa- rade. E. Don Pilsner and David Walshak smile after winning the egg toss. F. The Youth for Christ Club made their debue dur- ing Come-and-Take-It with their cotton candy table. G. Tracy Jones takes a big bite in the Hard Boiled Egg Contest. H. Students representing various organizations at GHS line up to compete in egg toss. I. Don Pilsner shows his coordination, needed to compete in the sack race.
