6 WS W According to this cornerstone, the old building has been standing a good many years. With the remodeling done in the summer of '59, it will withstand many more years of the clatter of stu- dents' feet--upstairs, downstairs, and in its halls. This remodeling included new floors, new desks, new and better communications, and a complete and efficient lighting system. The new building, shown above, provides Gon- zales High with a spacious auditorium, a modern gymnasium, a band room, a choir room, and two well-equipped science laboratories. Gonzales I-ligh's two newest additions are the shop building and the homemaking cottage, shown be- low. With these new facilities and modern con- veniences, GHS moves slowly forward, using the best of the old with the best of the new.
