JUL • • . •_ 2 Gloversville, New York Dedication Claudette and George Sylvester 4 There are very few teachers who can really relate to the students of today. Teachers who can mix their teaching with fun. Teachers who can — understand you, talk to you, and share their feelings with you. These are the kind of teachers a student remembers. We’ve found two such terrific teachers at G.H.S. So this is for you — Ma and Pa Sly.” 5 r 6 10 11 Administration Principal s Message As you complete your high school education and reflect back on all those various experiences, you will discover that the real journey of your lives has just begun. As each new experience unfolds I know that you will learn that true happiness comes to those who give fully of themselves to what they believe in and to their fellowman. We live in a time that offers unparalleled opportunities for each individual. I am confident that each of you will take hold of these opportunities to achieve greater good for yourselves, your community and for your country. Kenneth L. Rirhards, Principal Mrs. Cora Walton Mrs. Joan K. Morse Secretarial Staff Mrs. Helen Keneally Mrs. Eileen Moore Mrs. Sandra Santella Superintendent ’s Message Dr. A. Glen Everhart, Superintendent of Schools Seniors: You are to be commended for having completed your high school education! In reflecting on the personal qualities of intelligence, scholarship, perseverance and character that are so essential for success in High School, one realizes that as graduates you constitute a select group of people. Having been so successful, you will soon join the ranks of adult society, there to stand side by side with others on whom the cloak of responsible leadership has fallen — people who are not content with things as they are, but vibrant people who work to improve the world for this and future generations. I welcome you into this new phase of life and wish you well. Be ever mindful that the personal attributes that have contributed to your success to this point must be even more in evidence in the future as you face new and greater challenges. So who’s the pro? 143 145 147 This year the soccer team, under the direction of James Flint, had its best season in many years. The talent of this year’s team was outstanding, even though the record of 6-6-4 does not reflect this. This year showed the last of 10 seniors, including Foothills all-stars Dave Greene, Marshall Eckelman, and honorable mention, Doc” Jim Ellis. Returning veterans will be Steve Clemente, Andy Sutliff, T. J. Pemrick, and council all-star Tony Zarrelli. Next year should be another good season, but the loss of the seniors will be felt. The girls have been welcomed to the varsity ranks with a win and a tie in their first year, which is a good showing, considering that the competition has had teams for several years. Next year promises to be a good year, with many improvements for Miss Tootell’s team. Good luck for next year, girls. 152 L. to R.. Front Row: C. Lair. B. Cirillo, C. Wentworth, N. Whitman, C.
