Principal's Message, The Class of 1970 is a part of one of the most idealistic generations we've ever had, the least concerned with material gain and the strong- est motivated for social change toward a more just society. As such, each individual, working together with all others, can provide the propul- sion to accomplish their goals. At the same time, it can never be overlooked that these goals are made up of smaller parts and each section must receive its own recognition. Congratulations and Good Luck, Kenneth L. Richards Principal

Superintendent's Message: We are all victims of our own impulsiveness. We run headlong into living and through our impetuous actions fail to appreciate or even be aware that we are by-passing many of life's true joys. It has been said that in order to enjoy the vital force of being, man must take time to think, to play, to read, to pray, to love and be loved, to be friendly, to laugh, to work, and to give. To graduate from senior high school, you must com- plete a formal and prescribed course of study. This train- ing is designed to prepare you for either continuing edu- cation or a vocation of your choice. Hopefully, formal education in the Gloversville Schools has had a broader meaning to the members of the Class of 1970, or if not, you have missed much of what our schools have to offer: The day to day interaction with teachers and fellow stu- dents, an appreciation of truly getting to know people and the many opportunities available of giving of your- self for the benefit of others. Fortunately, it is only the very few who miss these ever important parts of a com- plete educational program, for without them, education is indeed a bland process and the individual involved passes by rewards that can never be reclaimed. ... Dr. John E. Mathews Superintendent of Schools II
