In Dedication One can never truly evaluate the degree of dedication that any particular teacher in a school system exhibits. Glancing back over the well-trod educational path that each of us has traveled thus far, we have seen many devoted faculty members whose dedication is not merely to their jobs, but to each one of our futures. However, there is one devoted teacher, in particular, who has been an outstanding asset to the Class of 1970. His guidance, coaching, and enthusiastic personality have each extended to all of the students at GHS a strong feeling of school spirit. Therefore, it is with great pleasure that we, the Class of 1970, dedi- cate our yearbook to Mr. Edwin R. Smalling— Coach.

Foreword Every day at G.H.S. can be compared to a simple grain of sand. These days, or grains, ad- here to each other to form a sand castle symboli- cally encompassing the many memories of our school life, with each student being the architect who creates his own castle. At G.H.S., the many big and important events of the year often overshadow the smaller memo- ries. In the rigorous and hurried routine of a stu- dent or teacher, many times the important and yet seemingly insignificant aspects of high school life are overlooked. Therefore, we, the 1970 yearbook editors, have tried in this, your Oracle, to point out those little things that count. We have tried to capture for you in pictures the small, everyday occurrences, which taken together, make our memories at G.H.S. more meaningful.
