flanges I-finder Varsity Team With the transfer of the sophomore runners to the sophomore team, the varsity cross country team lost the strength and ahility to pull through a successful season, lt was a very young team, the youngest team live ever hadfl stated Coach Dave Bedell. The team had only one senior runner,AJ0hn Sulli- van, who had been running on the var- sity team for three years. John was awarded the most valuable and inspira- tional runner on the team. John was also voted runner of the week two times during the season. ' 'visor Total Team Effort Helps ' if fzfn I V95 77 Every game was a total team effort and we improved a great deal, stated Coach Doreen Ramsey about the junior varsity volleyball team. The team was 5-3 and took fourth place in the Sierra League standings. 'clt was a very young team, Coach Ramsey stated about the three seniors, five jun- iors and four sophomores who made up the team. The team had much all-around talent with steady setters being Antje Hans, jun- ior, and Karen Jackson, senior. The strong spikers consisted of Lynn Weir and Kelly Walker, juniors and Cheryl Davis, senior. Lori Hunt, sophomore supplied the best serve while Denise Perry was a strong defensive player. At the awards banquet two awards were given, one being the most improved player who was Marisa Morel, sophomore. fV75 Finish 5-2 in League Members of the junior varsity cross country team felt this was an inspira- tional year. The team came in fifth place with a 2-5 standing. The majority of the ll meets were held at Mt. Sac. and many of the boys received medals. Doug Smith was named Most Valu- able player on the junior varsity cross country team.
