Who Would Guess That Teacher as os tudent. Since the theme of thc 1977 yearbook is People, the Bellendaine Staff thought it would be interesting to look at the faculty and what they did as people in high school. Some of the teachers who were active in high school activities and sports are now active as coaches and advisors to those same activities at Glendora High Scgool. For instance, Miss Billie Oglesby, who coaches some of the girls, athletic teams at GHS, received the Outstanding Athletic Award at Charter Oak High c ool. Who would ever guess that Mr. Gary Riley was nick named the Dobbie Gillisn of Bonita High School? The Rough Rider of Roosevelt High was Glendo- ra's Mr. Frank Chong. Crooner, alias Mr. Richard Cobb, played the lead part in a Citrus Union High School play, Skin of Our Teeth. Many teachers were active in athletic competition while attending high school. Faculty jocks included Mr. Dennis Minder from El Mollie High School. Mr. Dave Bedell, captain of Cider Falls, lowais track team and Mr. Alan Slink Thompson was Hudson Bay High School's Most Valuable Basketball Player. Bullard High School's Jerilyn Chuman was active in Pep Club while attending school in Fresno. And lastly, the Michigan math test finalist was Mrs. Debby Lelewer who teaches math at GHS. He is one of the many teachers who was a graduate from Glendora High and is presently teaching here. 4 This teacher graduated from Reitz High School in Indiana. She was very active in sports, such as hockey, softball, and basketball. 7 While attending Manual Train- ing High, this teacher received a special award for Most Valuable tniib back in football. He also lettered Vw, two years in football, one year in track and was a member of the Lettermen's Club. 4 A graduate from Waubegan . Township School in Illinois, this teacher was involved in many activities. She participated in cheerleading, .student govern- ment, National Honor Society, Girls League, Spanish club, speech and drama. 9' . 4-' i-7m- g f, .fn : ff blxlicknamed Patti7, this teacher graduated from Lennox High School. ln her junior year she was Girls League Vice Presi- dent and Drill Team Vice Presi- dent. As a senior she was a varsity song leader, Senior Princess, Ten- nis Princess, and editor of the yearbook. 4 As a CSF life member, this teacher was Associate Justice on the student court and a graduate from Montebello High School. She was a song leader, flag twir- ler, and was active in GAA. A This teacher was the only per- son in his typing class who had to take a relief break before the period ended. He guessed it was just from being nervous. He was also always first in the cafeteria line. 4 North Central High. in Wash- ington was thc school from which he graduated. He was Student Body Vice President. newspaper editor, Junior Press Club Presi- dent and was active in Quill and Scroll. He was also on the year- book staff. and varsity track team. He received a special honor as Boys, State Representative. A H. Mfi was his nickname and ' was a graduate from Reseda High School. He was involved in the Graphic Arts Club, and is now teaching electronics. QNA. D. or Ar was his nick- name. He participated in just about every sport and received a special award for being the Most Valuable JV Baseball Player. He was the Senior Class Representa- tive Qfor the Student Government and was also involved in drama and YMCA. Last but not least he was the Prince of the Valentine Court. D San Marino High was the school this new teacher on cam- pus attended.
